Last week the motherboard of my PC (5 years old) died. Now I have an HD (XP Home SP3) with some very old programms on it (I need them for maintenance for some clients).
What I tried:
- copy the HD with P2V (Paragon). I got ONLY a *.vmdk. I could mount this disk in a VM and access my data. But I could not start the needed programms (it's clear because the drive is l: and not c: )
- tried to create a VM with this virtual disk -> error message: should use a *.vmk
- created a MOA-coldclone.iso, started the converter -> error message: could not find a operating system
Now I am stuck.
Should I try to build a vmk-File by hand, to get the disk in a VM?
Thanks for help,
Mike
