A follow-up on "101 to 109" on old board

Postby BilouGateux » Sun Oct 10, 2010 2:15 pm

old topic: http://sanbarrow.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1818

I have compared:
plugins from 101 with plugins from 109
moa241-update-plugin\pebuilder\plugin\zzzz\moa-24-*.inf

i haven"t found differences except Loader Prompt string to replace in TXTSETUP.SIF
loaderprompt=" . . . starting MOA 2.4.109 . . ."

and swap old moa24-101.exe with new moa24-109.exe found in I386\SYSTEM32\shell (renamed to moa.exe)

using file compare tool, i don't find 3 files in 109 build:
I386\SYSTEM32\instsrv.exe
I386\SYSTEM32\mscoree.dll
I386\SYSTEM32\srvany.exe

Could i safely delete them in my updated build to version 109.
does some plugin need these tools to install service on the fly
mscoree.dll is .NET 1.1 file, should not be included except if we want to save some scratch space (FBWF enabled) and we use .NET 1.1 LODR package?

2nd question related to shortcut created on moon user desktop.

I would like to replace regshot shortcut with DrvImpPE shortcut.

I haven't figured how to configure shortcut during build or at boot time to my whish?

Hi Bilou

honestly I don't remember why i ever added the files to create services - I have not used them on MOA last year or so ...
You can also skip mscoree.dll.

You speak about dotnet 1.1 ... do you still use that ?
I frequently use dotnet2 nowadays - but I load this with the esxi-tools I made. see http://sanbarrow.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1487

Creating shortcuts ...

thats a simple drag'n'drop task.
Boot MOA - create startmenu and desktop icons until you are satisfied.
Then copy the *.lnk files to your building directory ... pebuilder\bartpe\moahome\home\moon\desktop and ... pebuilder\bartpe\moahome\home\moon\startmenu

If you use MOA from USB and use the cheatcode "remount" it is super easy - just create the shortcuts - they will reappear on next boot
