Heil !

Hello! Long live the new Sanbarrow forum !

Since I'm inaugurating, let me figure out a question, OK, here''s a good one, MAC addresses : VMware lets us fix virtual adapters' MAC addresses but, as we all know, only the user part (3bytes), not vendor ID :(

This is unfortunate in cases when one would need to clone an existing MAC address, such as in some (most?) MS Windows migration scenarios...

Is there a hack that would force Workstation to accept non-VMware network adapter ids ?

Cheers...

Hi Ninho

nice to see you :D

I just launched a MOA VM with

Code: Select all
ethernet0.Address = "11:11:11:11:11:11"
ethernet0.addressType = "static"
ethernet0.connectionType = "bridged"
ethernet0.pciSlotNumber = "33"
ethernet0.present = "TRUE"
ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000"
ethernet0.wakeOnPcktRcv = "FALSE"

and got this

don't know exactly since which version this works - anyway - try it
